How many days is this event being run over there are so many people in the Finals. Please advise the running format or anything that may shed some light on the event please Ty

Do any of the Finalists even get to perform please Are the winners notified before the night??Ty

Can we please have some clarification what the actual prizes are? All the listed prizes are from previous years and include obviously incorrect things, eg. recording time at studios which no longer exist.

Will any finalists get the chance to perform? Will winners be informed before the night? Will winners get to perform?

Why are people who are not even entered in the comp performing? This should be a platform and opportunity for entrants not people with already successful existing careers.

Also will there be a real finalists list rather than one which lists every entrant in an attempt to get us to purchase tickets?

If Richard Wilkins is the patron, why is he not one of the special guests?

It appears that the competition is already over!! It is definitely time for your organisation to be fully investigated and I intend to report my concerns to the appropriate authorities. You have taken a lot of money on the pretext of listening and judging the entries for prizes but, no judges, no prizes, no short list of finalists!!! Shame on you!

Ditto, ditto, ditto to all the above concerns!!! It's just over a week before the awards night and we have had no information on prizes or finalists. The information on your website is totally out of date which is extremely amateurish considering the amount of money struggling musicians have invested! When you click on your info tabs you get details that are circa 2009!!! Very disappointing musicoz . I will not enter in this again and will pass on my concerns to fellow musicians. Robot man.

I wonder if the delay to announce finalists is just a ploy to get as many people to the awards night as possible??? Obvioulsy musicoz hasn't met their quota for the opera house so are just using delay tactics as there's more of a chance you would not come if you weren't a finalist. Hard if you are interstate waying up to come or not. My advice, don't go! Amanda

You play all the instruments yourself, guitar,drums,keyboard etc, & you sing all vocals,backup vocals,harmony for all your songs you have written including doing the video yourself!! I think musicoz might have forgotten to "disable comments" on this page! I'm glad... all the comments questioning the validity of this event needed to be said. bit of a shame, if not a joke. There's not really any marketing message out there, from the organizers, that reassure me the event will actually be on!

How come the finalists haven't been announced with only 5 days until the awards night? First time for everything... really disappointing,

Rod Williams definately should have an invitation to perform at the Opera House.

To all those posting the negative comments & accusing MusicOz of not being honest, not announcing performer & questioning if the event is happening - could I suggest a few things:

To Shonam, check your facts. The finalist list contains the names of ALL the entrants. Pastyears have been very different and I am now very disappointed about this situation. You are being very naive. When did Richard Wilkins say the things you have quoted? He WAS involved in past years but is not even listed as a special guest this time. Yes there is an event at the Opera House (not free ofcourse) but it has little to do with all the entrants being judged by industry professionals as it used to be. It's not cheap to enter this competition so there should be open and honest dealings.

I agree with 'past and present' entrant. How can everyone who has entered be 'a finalist'??? Obvioulsy this has been done purely to get as many people to the event as possible. It's sad reading news stories of bands being really excited they are a 'musicoz' finalist, getting their hopes up when at the end of the day, chances are their tracks haven't even been heard prior to this weekend. I'm all for what musicoz has represented in the past, but they have lost significant integrity (by my standards), over this little stunt.

Do we know who will be presenting each award to the category winners yet?

Waking up post event. Seems all of the above concerns are granted. There's a lot musicoz should and could of done more transparent. Still a lot of unanswered questions. Too little too late. Won't be entering again. This is not a 'sour grapes' attack.. Just one opinion of a finalist who embraced the event and noticed a lot of downfalls. Unfortunately we would of expected these flaws to be ironed out by now as its been 10 years! By the way... Where does all the money go?

Couldn't agree more. For a start, they havent even bothered posting winners. Now they've made their money they just drop it? I would very much like to know where the money goes because somebody has mad a profit from this. What prizes did people actually win? All lists of prizes, sponsors, judges etc are out of date and obviously incorrect for this year. You cant win studio time at studios that dont exist anymore!!! It seems like the event is genuine, ie. the awards show does take place but it is a farce. The show is simply a way to make money in my opinion. Artists pay to enter, some of them pay hundreds, then buy tickets - lots of money and we get no transparency, no response from organisers, no real judging, no real finalists list, no real opportunities for the vast majority of these entrants. The only opportunity Ive actually seen is the chance to perform at the Opera House and this went mostly to people who arent entrants and/or already have existing careers. Just like "Finalist" above, this is not a sour grapes thing. The only thing I have sour grapes about is the fact that MusicOz is claiming to be a launching pad for developing independent artists, providing great prizes and opportunities for exposure and then mostly just ripping off said artists. Definitely will never enter again.
